Château Pontet-Canet stands as one of Pauillac’s most visionary estates. Classified as a 5ème Cru in 1855, the estate has built its reputation not only on heritage but on pioneering sustainability. As the first Grand Cru Classé certified both organic and biodynamic, it champions a living, breathing vineyard ecosystem. Hauts de Pontet-Canet is the second wine of the Château, produced in small quantities. The 2014 vintage exhibits all the characteristics of the Château’s wines, clearly representing the power of a Pauillac. Initially, the nose may seem a bit closed, but with some aeration, aromas of blackberry, cassis, boysenberry, and cedar begin to emerge. The palate also displays lovely concentration.
