Vintage Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape 2009
£129.00
Château de Beaucastel has long been regarded as one of the greatest wineries in France, notorious for its elegance, poise and ageing potential. Beaucastel has an exceptional terroir at the Northern point of Châteauneuf du Pape, exposed to the cooling Mistral wind which provides such balance. All thirteen grape varieties of the Chateauneuf have been organically grown since the sixties; without a doubt, Beaucastel is a name we are proud to highlight and an organic wine icon that many have learnt from.
Hailing from the legendary 2009 vintage, this wine displays deep crimson red and offers up a sweet bouquet of spiced black cherries, violets, rose petals, blueberry, leather and plum. The palate shows excellent concentration and depth with silky, ripe tannins, pronounced fruit intensity married together with a pure vein of acidity that runs throughout. An a showstopper bottle from this world class producer from one of the top vintages from the last two decades.
