Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 2022
£47.50
We are very proud to have Mas de Daumas Gassac’s wines on our portfolio. Having believed in making wine in what was a farming county many decades ago, their belief in the region paid off with them proving the soil and terroir could make outstanding wine. Now generations on, they are well regarded as the ‘first growth of the Languedoc’ with their flagship, complex Estate wines and now a much more affordable everyday range.
As with the famous Mas de Daumas Estate Red, this top Languedoc white combines an eclectic range of 20 grape varieties to create masses of complexity. Viognier, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Petit Manseng are the main backbone and character, but the other 16 are a mind-boggling collection of deliciousness. Incredibly, all of them are vinified separately and the wine is assembled when ready.
With the cold winter and the dry and consistent summer, the 2022 vintage reached its perfect ripeness and brought exceptional freshness to the grapes. The wine is dry rich, and soft with a touch of mineral. You will experience its magnificent minerality and very complex fruit aromas if drink in the next 2 years. Alternatively, the wine will develop into very rich wine with notes of honey and crystallised fruits in 4 to 12 years.
We highly recommend you open the bottle an hour before serving, decanting will encourage it to express its full complexity.
