Interesting fact: Oliver’s Taranga were prized grape growers before they made their own wine, and have long been selling premium grapes to prestigious estates such as d’Arenberg, Penfolds, Wirra Wirra and Seppeltsfield. Don Oliver and Corrina Wright (5th and 6th generation of the Oliver family) are both proud members of the exclusive Penfolds Grange Growers club.

The journey of Bekkers Wines began in 2011 when Toby and Emmanuelle Bekkers, both hailing from extensive winemaking backgrounds, joined forces to pursue their vision of crafting wines that reflect the essence of their land.
The essence of Bekkers Wines lies in their uncompromising commitment to quality, beginning with their viticulture practices.
Embracing a holistic approach, the vineyards are farmed sustainably, with great emphasis on organic and biodynamic principles. The meticulous care invested in the vineyards is evident in the exceptional quality of the grapes they yield. Through responsible practices, Bekkers Wines ensures that the land remains vibrant and capable of producing exceptional fruit for generations to come.
Bekkers Wines’ winemaking philosophy revolves around minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to express themselves fully. From hand-harvesting to traditional basket pressing, each step is executed with precision to preserve the character of the fruit. The winery employs time-honoured methods while embracing innovations that enhance the final product. The wines are nurtured in carefully selected French oak barrels, where they evolve gracefully, gaining complexity and depth.
Grenache and Syrah are the stars of Bekkers Wines’ portfolio.
The Grenache is a red varietal known for its vibrant red fruit flavours and soft structure. On the other hand, the Syrah, another flagship offering, bursts with dark fruit flavours, subtle spice, and a velvety texture.
Bekkers wines are exclusively available at select premium restaurants and wine merchants in Australia, as most of their production is reserved for their allocation list. At Wanderlust Wine, we were fortunate enough to obtain a limited quantity and aged them in our cellar for a few years before making them available on our website.
