Vintage Ridge Geyserville 2005

The is the 40th anniversary vintage of the iconic Geyserville, Ridge’s single-site Zinfandel. An extremely rare find, especially in such good condition. We were lucky to pick up three rare bottles from a collector and it is great to be able to offer this flagship wine in its full maturity.

At nearly 20 years of age, the 2005 Geyserville is a lovely example of a big, bold Zinfandel-based blend that retains elegance and vibrancy. Beautiful nose of black cherries, mint, shaved dark chocolate and bruised plums, lifted by spicy cardamom and liquorice. The palate is juicy, soft with supple tannins and lively acidity. Fantastic journey of flavours from blackberry jam, plum and cherry tart to hint of guava and star anise. Long finish showing all the complexity of a wine at its peak of development.

Please note the labels on these wines may be discoloured and not perfect.  However, the bottles have been stored well and the wine was fantastic when we recently opened one.

Grape(s): 77% Zinfandel, 17% Carignane, 6% Petite Sirah
ABV: 14.6%

NB this wine may have a stained label due to cellar moisture but the fill level and condition are very good.
