Vintage Ridge Estate Chardonnay 2017

The Estate Chardonnay, despite its misleading label actually comes from the hallowed Monte Bello ridge of their vineyard plantings. It is effectively the cooler climate, north-facing ridge of vines that still produce incredible Chardonnay grapes at a fraction of the price of the bigger-brother top white wine they make, the Monte Bello Chardonnay.

The wine is a golden straw colour and through this wine, you’ll find an interlacing of different fruits, both tropical and citrus; pineapple, melon, honeysuckle, and tons of lemon and lime full your mouth with flavour. It is refreshing as soon as you taste but quickly shows it is an elegant, round wine with a lively burst of acidity that carries through all of those delicious fruit flavours. Ridge is an iconic producer for many reasons and their Estate Chardonnay is solidly placed as a classic choice for people that love this grape. To sum up this wine it is clean, fresh, focused with a tight, precise and long finish.
