Atalier is a collaboration between Raúl Pérez and his long-time friend, Rodrigo Méndez, himself a renowned Galician winemaker. Here they focus on the terroir of Val do Salnés, in Rías Baixas, cradle of Galician’s iconic grape, Albariño.
The fruit hails from very old vines in the Cambados area, planted a stone’s throw away from the Atlantic on sandy and granite soils. The juice is then fermented in large French oak foudres, where it then ages for 12 months in contact with the lees (dead yeasts) for added complexity and texture.
The nose has intense aromas of crispy apples, followed by white grapefruit, lemon zest topped by a touch of eucalyptus and peach. Generous on the palate, with intense fruit balanced by fresh acidity. Delicious and mouth-watering this wine will have you reach for the next sip as soon as you put the glass down!
It carries the trademark structure, elegance and character of Raul Perez wines within an Atlantic soul.
