The Carolina White wine is the result of the selection of grapes from the higher areas of the Douro region, more precisely the Tabuaço region, where comes the rarely seen Viosinho and Rabigato varieties planted on granite soil. At an entry-level price point it is superb value to show the style of Luis’ winemaking (he is also the winemaker at legend producer Niepoort).
The wine has a clear colour and on the nose it is heady, fruity and expressive with pears, tropical notes and baked apple. On the palate, it has a great intensity as a result of the complexity soil the vines are grown on. The palate is bright and textured, medium-bodied with flavours of pear, grapefruit, lemon and lime. Its finish is crisp and drawn out to a lovely, long mineral finish.
