Nyetimber Classic Cuvee
Nyetimber Classic Cuvee
£29.99
Pale gold in colour with a gentle, fine bubble structure. On the nose it is toasty and spicy with complex aromas due to it’s extended ageing on it’s yeast in the Nyetimber cellars. It’s tasting profile is delicate but complex with flavours of apple, honeyed almonds, pastry. This is a fine English wine with elegance at it’s backbone. It will offer intensity, delicacy and length and challenge Champagne lovers that English wines really can be this good.

The Nyetimber estate counts three major landmarks in its history. Its earliest beginnings saw it first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086. Then there was the planting of the first vines, almost exactly 900 years later. All these years later, it was in 2006 that Nyetimber wines deserved an audience on the world stage.Nyetimber owns 100% of their vineyards and all of their wines are produced from the 170 hectares they have planted. This gives them complete control and provenance of how their wines are produced, right from the start of the growing season, all the way to the exceptional finished product in the bottle. All Nyetimber vineyards are located in the lee of the South Downs which affords them shelter from the coastal winds. Every single grape is picked by hand at the optimal time and tasted to ensure the best flavour development before picking.
Nyetimber’s vineyards were the first to be devoted exclusively to the holy trinity of Champagne grapes: chardonnay, pinot meunier and pinot noir which has paid back dividends as one of the UK’s highest rated producers, with many awards already in their cabinet.
