We are very proud to have Mas de Daumas Gassac’s wines on our portfolio. Having believed in making wine in what was a farming county many decades ago, their belief in the region paid off with them proving the soil and terroir could make outstanding wine. Now generations on, they are well regarded as the ‘first growth of Languedoc’ with their flagship, complex Estate wines and now a much more affordable everyday range.
Gassac are arguably experts in blending with over 20 varietals going into their top wines. This is a more affordable, expertly blended red that spends 6-months in oak barrels for extra layers of complexity. Expressive and complex with a nose with notes of blackcurrant, fruits of the forest and eucalyptus; on the palate it is full of big juicy fruits; blueberry, blackberry, fresh cherry an herbaceous-alpine edge. A red with good structure and balance with rustic character. Superb value for the complexity this wine brings at under £15.
