We are very proud to have Mas de Daumas Gassac’s wines on our portfolio. Having believed in making wine in what was a farming county many decades ago, their belief in the region paid off with them proving the soil and terroir could make outstanding wine. Now generations on, they are well regarded as the ‘first growth of Languedoc’ with their flagship, complex Estate wines and now a much more affordable everyday range.
French Sauvignon Blanc? There aren’t many wines more classic, versatile and elegant. This is a light, dry and crisp Sauvignon; produced in the Langudeoc it has more body than say, a Sancerre (and at a fraction of the price). It is a typical pale gold colour, with a generous expression of citrus and grassy green notes. On the palate, you’ll get flavours of fresh pear, apple, and lemon, bright freshness and juicy acidity. This is the perfect easy drinking style that is characteristic of the everyday Moulin de Gassac range. A perfect accompaniment for many foods but our favourites would be some fresh fish or soft goats cheese.
