Mas de Daumas Gassac Rouge 2021

We are very proud to have Mas de Daumas Gassac’s wines on our portfolio. Having believed in making wine in what was a farming county many decades ago, their belief in the region paid off with them proving the soil and terroir could make outstanding wine. Now generations on, they are well regarded as the ‘first growth of the Languedoc’ with their flagship, complex Estate wines and now a much more affordable everyday range.

This is their now-famous Estate Red produced on a terroir of deep glacial sandstone in a cool microclimate. A very classic Languedoc red blend with classic winemaking techniques and ageing in oak barrels. This fantastic, powerful, complex wine can be drunk in its youth between 3 and 5 years, in maturity from 10 to 15 years or in majesty from 15 to 25 years.

A true basket of fruit! It will give you a bouquet of crushed blackberries and mulberries along with an array of smoky-leathery notes and a silky finish that lingers. If you plan to enjoy it in the next 5 years, you will experience crisp fruit and tannins at the forefront. A delicious and invigorating wine to drink. After that, the wine will gradually evolve from fresh to dried fruit, with velvety tannins and reveals its true complexity.

We highly recommend you open the bottle an hour before serving, decanting will encourage it to express its full complexity.
