Bergeisa is the grand-cru parcel grown next door to the hallowed Cannubi vineyard at 280m altitude. Given its terrior, as you would expect this is a fantastic example of Barolo whilst still well below the price of many similar examples.
Aged in larger wood barriques, the winemaking stands out and has resulted in a wine which is perfectly poised. A nose of cedar, baking spice, fresh madeleines. Structured, balanced and elegant on the palate with extra-fine silky tannins; blackberry, raspberry, violet, rose and a touch of liquorice are part of the layered and long journey in your mouth. Showing extremely well right now, but has potential to age 20 years or more (for those who can wait!)
