Somlo is famous for a big hill, borne from volcanic rock which possesses incredible minerality. Harslevelu directly translates into ‘lime leaf’ which explains some of the fleshy citrus flavours this grape is known for.
Kolonic’s example is a journey through flavours of nectarine, apple crumble, textured stony fruits and lime with floral subtleties. The finish is pinned to the underlying, steely minerality derived from the volcanic rock it grows on. Like his other wines, this wine can age for 10 years or more.
