Jean-Louis Chave has a gift for crafting captivating wines. This is partly achieved because the Chave family owns the best parcels in Hermitage and St Joseph, from which he blends with unparalleled skill. He’s quite rightly a Wine Icon and we are delighted to have sourced just a few parcels of mature wines which are at their peak.
This is a sumptuous white wine made from 100% Roussanne sourced from old vines in Saint-Joseph. Many argue this wine has much of the same appeal as the more expensive white Hermitage. Mature examples of these bottlings are extremely rare and nearly always drank too young! Now 7 years old, this ‘Circa’ is still wonderfully aromatic and textural, with flavours of stone fruits, orange, citrus oils, almonds and acacia blossom. Rich, creamy and with a slightly oily texture with a touch of honey. An excellent value option for those that want an exquisite wine that is ready to drink.
