HJ Wiemer Noble Select Riesling

Hermann J. Wiemer are widely regarded as one of the Finger Lake’s flagship producers – their expressive and elegant wines set the benchmark for the region, with their Riesling range in particular considered among the best in the world. Wiemer work with great attention to detail and aim to bring out the full expression of the grapes and vineyards through light-handed winemaking. They use natural yeasts only and all the vineyards are in conversion to biodynamic farming.

Their Noble Select are single-vineyard wines that represent the peak of ripeness, across the Hermann J. Wiemer estate, each year and across specific plots. The grapes hang on the vine for an extended period and partially affected by noble rot – the sugar and flavours are therefore concentrated producing wines of incredible complexity and texture.
Be ready for an explosion of flavour with this wine for the Josef plot. Intense aromas of nectarine, marmalade and lemon curd are balanced by great acidity. A Sauternes-like wine of amazing elegance, intensity and surprising freshness.
