Heumann’s rose is nearly 100% Kékfrankos (aka Blaufrankisch) with a tiny dab of Syrah and Merlot from vines aged between 10 and 20 years old.
It has an enticing nose of minerality, oyster shells and paprika spice. The palate is exactly what you want from a good rosé – lots of super-crisp raspberry and red-apple fruit, no sweetness and no pale-and-uninteresting fruitlessness that comes from wines trying too hard to be from Provence. Well made, super with food and thirst quenching for those British summer days and nights.
