Another Bavarian grape venture into Hungary, the grape flourishes in the South West; a warmer climate where it can ripen fully. Kekfrankos (Blaufränkisch) might have its finest expressions in Austria but in Hungary, it finds a deeper and riper character that will appeal to lovers of more luscious pours.
The wine is medium-bodied, delicately purple and with typical blueberry and cherry notes on the nose. In the mouth, it is concentrated yet supple wine with delicious red and black fruit. The tannins are present but well-integrated and fine in texture.
This will be the perfect match for some entrecôte or duck confit.
