The Vrignaud family has been a beacon of precision and elegance in Chablis for decades, having long championed organic practices. Guillaume, fifth generation at the helm of the estate, decided to create a special range, named after his great-grandfather Georges Deschamps, following a purely natural approach in the cellar.
This wine comes from Premier Cru Fourchaume, known for producing more generous wines, fruitier and rounder than elsewhere in Chablis. Often compared to the Grand Crus sites along the Fontaney Valley, this plot delivers the classic Kimmeridgian soil minerality with added richness even for younger wines.
A a step up from the Petit Chablis and Chablis, this 1er Cru Fourchaume has a more structured and layered profile, also due to extended time ageing on the lees. Notes of lemon, marzipan, yellow apples and a touch of honey are supported by racy acidity and pure minerality. A wine with great precision, luscious complexity and a long, elegant finish.
