The Vrignaud family has been a beacon of precision and elegance in Chablis for decades, having long championed organic practices. Guillaume, fifth generation at the helm of the estate, decided to create a special range, named after his great-grandfather Georges Deschamps, following a purely natural approach in the cellar.
His Grand Cru wine hails from the Blanchot plot, the southernmost of Chablis’ seven top vineyards. Blanchot is known for delivering both precision and richness, something that certainly comes through in this wine, a great example of the finesse and elegance of top Chablis aling with added concentration and weight.
Whilst rich, it manages to retain a sense of weightlessness. Expect a gentle nose, with floral, mineral and fresh citrus notes, followed by a bright and mouth-filling palate, with density balanced by great minerality. All the elements come together effortlessly; aromas of ripe apples and lemon zest, granite minerality, seashells and a very Chabliesq struck match touch. A real piece of vinous beauty.
Best drank accompanied with crustaceans, grilled fish or, one of our favourites, fish tacos!
