    About the producer:
Beth Derbyshire is a multi-disciplinary visual artist who has delivered a wide range of public art projects over the past 20 years.

Beth’s father was a Herefordshire cider farmer who, latterly, decided to plant a vineyard.  Following his death and after many years of living in London, Beth moved back to the county.  The extraordinary beauty and bounty of the area provided inspiration to start to Furnace Projects: a multi-faceted concept which encompasses the vineyard her father first created.

The vineyard is situated in the parish of Yarkhill, which has an Anglo-Saxon origin.  Yarkhill was mentioned in the Domesday book of 1087 and has supported farming communities since that time.  Lying in the valley of the River Frome, the soil and aspect of the region around Yarkhill make it well suited for growing grapes for wine.  Furnace Projects’ vineyard contains a mixture of Bacchus, Phoenix, Pinot Noir, Regent, Rondo and Seyval Blanc vines. The grapes are processed by the nearby, highly renowned Three Choirs vineyard who work closely with Furnace Projects to deliver the characters and flavours of these wines.
