Founded in the 12th century by Cistercian monks, Château de Jau is an historical Roussillon estate where olive trees, cypresses and vine share the land, surrounded by wild garrigue. The growing conditions here are ideal: bright sunshine, complex mineral-rich soils (limestone, clay and schist) and the influence of the Mediterranean winds which temper the summer heat and air the vineyards, ensuring healthy and perfectly ripe grapes.
Dandy is Chateau de Jau’s more premium white – a Côtes de Roussillon blend of four of the local main varieties. Generous and plush with flavours of clementine, lime, white flowers, lemon, lychee and apple, complemented by a lovely minerality and a nutty touch of almonds and brioche. The palate has an elegant creaminess and softness, lovely alongside the juicy characters of apple, lemon and lime. Long and generous finish with refreshing grapefruit pithy bitterness.
An overall quaffable, delicious and food-friendly white wine that will transport you to the Mediterranean garrigue.
