The 2009 vintage for Champagne was exceptionally good. A dry winter left the soils drier than normal and spring brought much-needed rain for a balance growing season. 2009 is seen as a fruit-forward, delicious vintage to drink now or hold for a number of years more.
On the nose there is a delicious fruit intensity with elegant lemony citrus notes and subtle almond, delicious buttery notes and light plum jelly. On the palate, it is a taut, precise and structured Champagne with seductive texture, benefitting from 9 years of ageing. Its extra brut dosage (4 g/l) means the wine provides a persistent finish with a structure defined by the quality of its potential as a great vintage.
