Sugrue Bee Tree Pinot Meunier Rose

Bee Tree is the boutique Sussex-based wine project owned by Dermot & Ana Sugrue (the couple behind renowned English Sparkling Wine Producer, Sugrue South Downs). Whilst Sugrue South Downs’s main focus was to showcase the purity and minerality of Chardonnay, The Bee Tree single vineyard focuses on red varieties, Pinot Noir and Meunier to produce wines that yield great flavour concentration and depth. Made in small quantities with obsessive care, the wines from Bee Tree show great gastronomic affinity and aging potential.

This unique Pinot Meunier lead English Sparkling Rose displays a gorgeous coral-coloured pink, with aromas of peach, apple, crushed stone, pasty and fragrant orchard fruit. The palate is intense and full of depth, with fine, persistent bubbles, spice notes and refreshing acidity. The 2019 vintage marks the inaugural release from the winery and with only tiny quantities produced (1700 bottles), this wine is not only delicious but is also a collector’s item that marks the first release from this single vineyard plot.
