“There is a hint of lime freshness on the nose, driving pure citrus elegance on the palate. Terrific concentration and length. Tangy, tense and elegant, opening up in the glass to complex aromas that are smoky, biscuit and even slightly herbal, broadening out as it warms up a little.”
Jancis Robinson MW had a lot to say on the wines: “Arteis is a new name in champagne, applied to specially selected parcels of mature artisan Champagnes disgorged recently. This one spent 11 years on it’s lees (yeast), was made in the most glamourous vintage of the past decade and is a (relative) bargain”.
