Sardinia
Sardinia is home to Cannonau – the local name for Grenache. It is located 150 miles west of the Italian coast in the Mediterranean, a picturesque island that is covered in beautiful vineyards. Recently acknowledged as one of the Blue Zones, a highly concentrated region of centenarians that live by a similar set of rules, one of which is to have a glass of wine a day. Sardinia is also known for Vermentino, Carignan and a host of other local grape varieties. The warm and sunny climate produces ripe and fruity wines with an elegant and uplifting acidity from the coastal influence.
