Exploring to find value and quality in Piedmont was tough, but when we met Musso, wow were we stunned. They are a small family house dating back to 1929 with winemaking facilities that have developed with their success and size, now producing around only 75,000 bottles a year. They have a particular emphasis and focus on organic methods, making wines with minimal additions of the sulphites. Founded by Sebastian Musso in the 1920s, they have been able to select the particularly best-situated sites, where the soil is more hospitable and exposure promotes better ripening of the grapes. Here, soil comprised of typical clay and limestone mix provide a balance of acidity, minerality and refined, concentrated fruit.
